Welcome to Two Minds Psychology. My name is Dr Emma Taylor and I am an HCPC registered clinical psychologist with over 10 years NHS experience. I now work independently with children and adults, with a clinic in Beckenham, Bromley, Kent.
I completed my three year Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Canterbury Christ Church University in 2013. My training consisted of placements in child, adul, older adult and learning disability services with clients who presented with a range of mental health and developmental difficulties. Post-qualifying, I held split posts in child and adult neurodevelopmental services, developing my passion and expertise in diagnostic assessments and interventions for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
In my private practice I have developed my expertise in psychological interventions for children and adults (with and without neurodevelopmental disorders) who are experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, depression, trauma etc. I am an EMDR Europe accredited practitioner for adults and have completed advanced training in using EMDR with children. I also use Acceptance and Committment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in my work. Outside my private work, I am employed as a principle clinical psychologist leading an NHS commissioned complex adult ASD service.
As a parent I understand some of the challenges and pressures that modern parents face and I bring an empathic and balanced approach to my parent consultation work. I love pilates and I am training to become a pilates mat and reformer instructor, which compliments my understanding of the role of movement and exercise to our psychological wellbeing.
If you, your child, or a family member are having difficulties related to school, work, family or social relationships then I may be able to help. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation to develop a collaborative plan. Please provide your contact details and I will get back to you.
